M. G. Averett

M.G. Averett, 63 passed away at his home in New Orleans, January 12, 2009. He was a native of Gulfport, MS and had lived most of his adult life in San Francisco, CA He was a graduate of Gulfport High School and Perkinston Junior College. M.G.'s diverse career included loan officer with Russell Baker Finance in Gulfport, manager of the men's department at Rubenstein Bros. in New Orleans and owner and operator of The Great Waldo Pepper restaurant in Biloxi. M.G. was wonderful cook and during his lifetime traveled extensively.
He was preceded in death by his parents, M.G. Averett, Sr. and Vivian Conn Averett. He is survived by his wife, Fran Koltun Averett of San Francisco; three children, Kimberly Averett of Pacifica, CA, Miles Averett of New Orleans, LA and Jolie Sekinger of New Orleans, LA; he is also survived by six grandchildren; sisters, Janice Averett Newman of Gulfport, MS, Jill Averett White of Alexandria, LA, and brother, Tommy Averett of Gulfport, MS.
Funeral services for M.G. will be Sunday, January 18th, at 2PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport.
