Lydia Alleman Mansfield, age 86 of Gulfport passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Mansfield was a native and life long resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, a long time member of St. Peters by- the- sea Episcopal Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a very hands on person doing yard work, crochet and beadwork. She was loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed.
Mrs. Mansfield is preceded in death by her husband, James A. Mansfield; her daughter, Madelyn McDonald; her brother, Blaine Alleman, Jr.; and her sister-in-law, Inez Alleman. She leaves behind two children Jamie Haire (Truett) of Dothan, AL, and Jimmy Mansfield of Gulfport, MS; her brother Pete Alleman of McComb, MS; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway Suite 1, Marietta, GA 30067.
Graveside services will be held at 1p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport. The RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport is in charge of the arrangements.
