Lydia Jeanette Cuevas

Lydia Jeanette Cuevas, age 76, of Gulfport, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Cuevas was a native of Pass Christian and remained a lifelong resident of the coast. She graduated from Pass Christian High School and was a lifelong parishioner of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church. Mrs. Cuevas was devoted to her catholic faith serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, serving those at home and in nursing homes. Her daily prayers and attendance at mass will remain as a devotion to those she cared for and loved. She also participated in several activities at the church and instilled her values in her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Cuevas, Parents, Levander and Elizabeth Cuevas, 2 brothers, Levander Cuevas, Jr. and Ronald Cuevas, and 2 nieces, Tonya Barett, and Dawn Brogdon.
Survivors include her 5 boys, Kirt (Caroline) Cuevas, Keith (Lori) Cuevas, Kevin (Stacey) Cuevas, Kendall (Sandra) Cuevas, and Kerwin (Peggy) Cuevas, 3 sisters, Mary Beth Brogdon, DeLores Mason, and Pauline Cuevas, 12 grandchildren, Amy, Michelle, April, Jake, Jared, David, Hannah, Kaitlyn, Keegan, Stephanie, Allison, and Madeline, 2 great-grandchildren, Dane Virgil and Lydia Rose, special caregivers, Wendy, Ann, and Barbara, a special longtime friend, Faye Lizana, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, February 28, 2011 from 5 - 7 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Hwy 49 N, Gulfport. The rosary will be recited at 7 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where friends may visit from 10 - 11 am.
Interment will be in Evergreen Gardens Cemetery.
