Lucy Broom

Lucy Lee Broom, age 83 of Gulfport, passed away December 23, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Lucille Fortenberry.

Lucy is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Milton Broom; her children, Daniel Ramshur, James Ramshur (Kate), and David Ramshur (Myra); her siblings, Jimmy Fortenberry (Donis) and Buelah Ginn (Carl); and her grandchildren, Pamela, Matthew, Alex, Jewel, and Abraham.

Lucy enjoyed anything involving crafts and making things with her family. She thoroughly loved crocheting hats for underprivileged children. Lucy was also an avid gardener, growing beautiful flowers.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Singing River/Ochsner’s hospital, as well as, Tony Karnes, the pastor of Michael Memorial Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held 9 – 10am, Monday, December 27, 2021, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport. A service will follow at 10 am. Interment will be at Mt. Gileat Cemetery.
