Mrs. Lucille Ray, 89, of Long Beach, went home to meet her Lord Jesus Christ peacefully in her home on Dec. 20, 2009.
She was born in Laingsburg, Michigan and moved to Long Beach with her husband in 1945. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and an active member of First Baptist Church of Long Beach. She was previously a hair dresser and worked in an ammunition plant during WWII, supporting the country. In her later years, she enjoyed working with her hands; taking up hobbies such as painting and sewing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Arnell Ray, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Goetze and her daughter-in-law Sheila Ray.
She is survived by her sons Ronald Ray and David Ray and his wife Betty Ray of Long Beach; and her grandchildren Sharon Ray of Long Beach, David Ray, Jr. of Long Beach, Jennifer Ray of Long Beach and Robly Langlinais, his wife Brandy and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today in her honor at 1:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd., Long Beach. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Long Beach or Camellia Hospice.
