Lucille Nolan Mechatto, age 92, passed away on December 19, 2007 at the Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.
Mrs. Mechatto was a resident of Belzoni most of her life, and lived in Gulfport for 2 years where she attended Trinity United Methodist Church before moving to Ridgeland. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belzoni where she taught Sunday School and Bible Study for many years.
Mrs. Mechatto is preceded in death by her parents, Abraham L. Nolan and Frankie Mae Nolan; her husband, Snow Mechatto; two sisters, her twin, Louise Winfield and Jimmie Downer; her brother, Abe Nolan, Jr. and her grandson, Jerrell Bearden.
She is survived by her children, Lady Dell (Homer) Martin of Madison, Gay Ann (Buck) Stubbs of Belzoni, Phil (Jo Ellen) Mechatto of Gulfport, Denny (Vicki) Mechatto of Clinton, Cissy Taylor of Gulfport; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 21, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church, Belzoni where friends may visit from 1:00 pm until service time.
Interment will be in Belzoni City Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the Hospice Ministries, Inc., 450 Towne Center Blvd., Ridgeland, MS 39157 or one's favorite charity.
