Louis Neil Hosch, age 87 of Biloxi, passed away June 11, 2021, at his home.
Lougie, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was born February 14, 1934, in Gulfport to William Jacob and Edna Stribling Hosch.
Lougie graduated from Gulfport High School in 1953 and went on to join the United States Marine Corp. After fulfilling service to his country, he returned to Gulfport and joined the family business, Exclusive Cleaners. Lougie married Beverly Mauffray of the Kiln on October 5, 1958.
Lougie was a jack of all trades. He could fix anything - as he was a gifted carpenter and craftsman. After selling the family business, Lougie began sharing his talents by building and remodeling homes across the coast. This spanned for many decades -until his health put limits on what he could do. His last project, his pride and joy, was their current beautiful home on the water at Eagle Point. Lougie was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He made many hunting trips out west, but his favorite times were fishing trips to Chandelier Island on The Warrior II.
Lougie and Beverly enjoyed their retirement by entertaining family, friends, and people they did not even know at their home in Eagle Point. Their door was always open!
Lougie was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Edna Hosch; his brother, Billy Hosch; and his sister, Bobbie Ladner.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Beverly Mauffray Hosch; two daughters Coy (Tom) Pena of Homestead, FL and Carole (Mike) Axton of Laurel, MS; four grandchildren, Ashlee Pena, Adam Axton, Kristen (Roshy) Overholt, Anna Axton; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Reese Overholt.
Lougie is also survived by his sister, Margaret Jessup of Lexington, KY; nieces and nephews, and many others that he took under his wing throughout his lifetime.
There will be a "Celebration of A Life Well Lived" on Saturday June 19, 2021, from 4:00-6:00 pm at their home at 10452 Riviere Vue Dr. Biloxi. His ashes will be spread over Chandelier Island at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to your favorite charity.
