Louise Rector

Louise Ramey Rector, age 95 of Long Beach, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

She was born in Carbon Hills, Alabama and graduated from Carbon Hills High School in 1945, and was a Navy wife for 52 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charlie B. Rector; her daughter, Kathy Ann Rector; her parents, John and Ruth Ramey; her brothers, Ted Ramey, Fred Ramey, and John Ramey; and her sisters, Ada Miller, Mary Mewshaw, Edith Schley, Anne Aldeman Hunt, and Dean Zacharis.

Louise is survived by her son, Charles Rector; her nieces, June Duncan, Jane Ramey, Peggy Harrell, Luann Schley, Linda Schley, Patsy Schley, and Debbie Schley; and her in-laws, Howard and Mary Rector, Lola Mae Edwards, and Ann Duran.

Louise was employed by Jasper, AL Police Department and Navy Exchange in Bainbridge, MD.

She enjoyed gardening, quilting, fishing, farming, canning, roller skating, homemaking, and casinos.  Louise belonged to Long Beach Yacht Club, was a member of Long Beach First United Methodist Church, and First Circle Women.

We would like to thank Ashley, Angie, Nikki, and Kendra with Enhabit Hospice at Home.  A special thank you also, to the staff at Lighthouse Memory Care, Ocean Springs.  We would also like to thank friends and neighbors Nancy and Russell, Bettye Buckley, Amanda, and Matt.
