Louise Maslowski

Louise Peterson Maslowski, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, in Gulfport, MS.
She was born October 24, 1929, in Handsboro, MS, and was a lifelong resident of Gulfport and Woolmarket. She graduated in 1951 from Touro Infirmary School of Nursing in New Orleans, LA. Mrs. Maslowski was a Registered Nurse and also attended Tulane University where she scored the highest grade in her class in pediatrics. She worked for Dr. Ben J. Kitchings in Long Beach for 8 ½ years and retired from the Biloxi V.A. Medical Center.
She was a member of Coalville United Methodist Church and started singing in the choir in 1964. Louise was a member of NARFE Gulf Breeze Chapter 1571 and AARP Chapter 569. She loved to travel and had been to all 50 states, Canada, Israel, Egypt, and London.
Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 ½ years, Edward W. Maslowski; her only grandchild, Tammy Mayfield; her parents, Ludwig and Winnie Holley Peterson; two brothers, Elvin and Peter Peterson; and two sisters, Odeal Peterson Holley and Helen Peterson Walker.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou "Boo" Saucier (Rusty) of Saucier, and son, Kenneth E. Maslowski of Gulfport; her stepson, Earnie Morgan of Boulder, CO; and nephew, Jim Walker (Liz) of Madison, MS.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers road, Gulfport, at 12 o'clock Noon. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Coalville Cemetery.
