Louise Goodwin

Louise Angeline Goodwin, age 87, of Biloxi, MS, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 in Ocean Springs, MS.

Mrs. Goodwin was born in Waverly, Tennessee in 1933 and was a long-time resident of Biloxi. She graduated from Delta State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. She was employed by Shaw High School (1956-1963), Fernwood Junior High (1970-1974) and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (1985-2000).

In high school (Shelby Consolidated Schools). she was the Valedictorian in 1952 and Homecoming Queen in 1951.  In college, she served on the Wesley Foundation for 4 years; vice-president her junior and senior years; a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Delta Singers; and a member of the Homecoming Court her sophomore and junior years.

Her hobbies were needlework (knitting, crochet, thread count) and gardening. She was a long-time member of 55 years of the First United Methodist Church of Gulfport, where she was active in the United Methodist Women and having held multiple positions.

Mrs. Goodwin was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Willo Goodwin, Jr.; her father, Robert Lovell Ferguson; her mother, Grayce Mae Ferguson; and her brother, Bobby Lovell Ferguson. She is survived by her daughter, Laci Love Garrett and her husband, Dwayne; and her sister, Bonnie Stockman and her husband, Sam.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. The funeral procession will leave at 1:50 p.m. and a Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Southern Memorial Park, 2076 Beach Blvd., Biloxi.
