Mr. Louis """"Louie"""" Henry Spaniol, of Gulfport, passed away November 5, 2007 in Gulfport at the age of 85.
Mr. Spaniol was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 28, 1922 where he spent the first few years of his life until, as he would say, """"he landed at Keesler Field in 1942 to proudly serve his country"""". After serving his country he moved back to the coast for a few years where he met his wife Ruby. They moved to New Orleans where they lived for about 14 years then moved back to Gulfport for the last few years of their lives.
""""Mr. Louie"""" had, as he would say, """"a long and for the most part wonderful life"""". He loved and was loved in return. We will miss your name across our lips and the sound of your voice in our ears. We will miss your sweet smile and your love for the Saints. """"Go Saints""""!!! Thanks for all the memories and stories of long ago. Thanks for serving your country so proudly. Thanks for being a special grandfather.
Mr. Spaniol was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Adalaide Spaniol; four siblings; his loving wife Mrs. Ruby Spaniol; his daughter Wanda Morgan; and granddaughter Shelia Morgan.
He is survived by his three children, Gail Baxter (Monty) of Gulfport, MS; Virginia Branham of Pascagoula, MS; and Michael Powe (Bonnie) of Lucedale, MS; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at a later date. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., is in charge of arrangements.
