Louis W. Simmons, Sr., age 84 and a resident of Saucier since 1941, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008 in Biloxi.
Mr. Simmons was born May 18, 1926 in Little Rock, MS. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, and was a World War II Veteran. He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church.
Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mandy Hitt Simmons; and his son-in-law, Steve Daniels.
Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Herrin and her husband Richard, of Saucier; Deborah Montgomery and her husband Leslie, Jr., of Saucier; Martha Daniels, of Perkinston; and Sandra Parker and her husband James, of Big Level; his sons, Louis Simmons, Jr.; Harold Simmons and his wife Freda; Scott Simmons and his wife Ruby; and Brian Simmons and his wife Cindy, all of Saucier; his sister, Joyce Simmons Cochran, of Saraland, AL; his brother, Jesse Simmons, of Shubuta, MS; 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Saucier at 1:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to services. Brother Rick Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in Saucier Cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the physicians and nurses at the Biloxi VA Hospital.
