Mr. Louis D. (Lou) Hall, 86, of Diamondhead, MS, died July 10th, 2010, in Gulfport.
Mr. Hall was born January 19, 1924, in Ten Mile, MS, 12th of 13 children, to John Thomas and Melissa Maloy Hall. His early years were spent in Leland and Petal, MS.
He attended Forrest County Agriculture Boarding School and while there he and his underage buddies joined the MS National Guard.
In 1942, Mr. Hall volunteered for service in the Army Air Force and his unit saw service in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco through July 1945.
Mr. Hall returned to attend the University of Southern MS where with his wife, Neal, of 64 years, he received a degree in accounting in 1949.
Mr. HallaÌââ¢s career with Sears, Roebuck and Co. spanned 32 years and many states until his retirement in 1987, in Chicago, IL. He then moved to Diamondhead and built his retirement home and enjoyed golf, tennis, fishing and traveling.
Mr. Hall was very active in his community and was an Elder in the Diamondhead Community Church and helped organize the Diamondhead Water and Sewer District as one of their first Commissioners. He also served on the Hancock County Republican Executive Committee, was a board member of the Diamondhead Community Association and Hancock County United Way,
Life Member of the USM Alumni Association, USM Eagle Club, Bay St. Louis American Legion Post #130, and the Diamondhead VFW Post 2880.
In 1996 he was appointed Commissioner with the Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission where he served until his death.
In 2004, Mr. Hall was pleased to learn that he and his son, John, had been appointed by the Chamber of Commerce as one of Hancock CountyaÌââ¢s Outstanding Citizens.
Mr. Hall loved the Lord and often said he could not find anything in the Bible about retirement, so he kept busy until the Lord called him home.
Mr. Hall is survived by his loving wife, Neal Adams Hall, his brother, J.T. Hall, of Oxford, MS, two sons, Denny (Marsha) Hall, of Lacombe, LA, and John A. (Linda) Hall of Diamondhead, MS., two granddaughters, Kim Blackledge of Slidell, LA, Amy (Jeff) Wiggins of Slidell, LA, one grandson, David Louis Hall of Diamondhead, MS, five great grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to visit from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Wednesday July 14th, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln-Delisle Road, Pass Christian, MS.
The Church visitation will be held 10 to 11 AM with service at 11AM on Thursday July 15th at the Diamondhead Community Church with Pastor Chas Jones officiating.
The Graveside Service with military honors will take place at 2:30 PM on Thursday July 15th at Highland Cemetery, 3401 West 7th Street, Hattiesburg, MS.
