Louis Joseph Cheramie, 79, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 in Gulfport.
Mr. Cheramie was a resident of Gretna, LA for 30 years and was a current resident of Diamondhead, MS. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Cheramie was a former teacher and principal in Grand Isle, LA, was a director in the Jefferson Parish School System and was a member of Diamondhead Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, William J. Cheramie; his mother, Armine Danos Cheramie; and sister, Annette Dugas. Survivors include his wife, Lynn R. Cheramie of Diamondhead; four children, Celeste A. Roberts and husband, Mark of Houston, TX, Claire C. Kruszka and husband, Jeffrey of Houston, TX, Louis C. Cheramie of Miami, FL and Leslie C. Martinez and husband, Orlando of Conroe, TX; two brothers, William J. Cheramie and Gerald J. Cheramie; five grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Hernaez, Rachel Roberts, Joshua Roberts, Alexa Martinez and Brenton Martinez; and several nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Diamondhead Community Church, at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow in the church's Fellowship Hall.
