Mr. Louis Matthew Borzik, Sr., age 93, resident of Long Beach, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mr. Borzik was born in 1916 in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Michael Joseph and Mary Pastiran Borzik. He had been a resident of the Coast most of his life. He was a carpenter by trade and a parishioner of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach. He was avid fisherman and gardener, of which his harvest was shared with many.
Mr. Borzik was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Johnnie Mae Estelle Krebs Borzik; daughter, Barbara Louise Borzik Ezell; son-in-law, Joseph Marvin Jones; brothers, Joe, Mike, John , and Paul Borzik.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Boyd Borzik of Long Beach; children, Mary Ann Jones of Long Beach, Louis Matthew """"Butch"""" Borzik, Jr. of Long Beach and his wife Gaynell, Cecil Borzik of Gulfport and his wife Marie, David Borzik of Yazoo City and his wife Dianne; son-in-law, Ronald Ezell; sister, Mary Borzik of Gulfport; 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, October 3, 2009, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Long Beach, at 10 a.m. Friends are invited to join the family one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
