Louis (Lu Lu) H. Bergeron Sr, age 86, passed away on Friday February 15, 2008, after a 2 year illness. Mr. Bergeron was born in Henderson Point and a native of Pass Christian. A member of St PaulaÌââ¢s Catholic Church and the VFW of Pass Christian.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Claudia Beatrice Pixley Bergeron; his father, Arthur J. Bergeron and mother, Elvie Fournier Bergeron; four sisters Ella Necaise, Ula Mae """"Sis"""" Dounhue, Rita Mae Woods, and Louise Lilly; four brothers Uless """"Koonie"""", Arthur """"Babe"""", Lawson and Rudolph """"Chinky"""" Bergeron .
Mr. Bergeron is survived by his son, Louis H Bergeron, Jr. and wife Cathy S. Bergeron; his grandson, Christopher Adam Bergeron; great grandson, Christopher Adam Bergeron, Jr. """"A.J."""", and his brother, Paul Bergeron, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bergeron was a U S Navy Veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific. A retired Longshoreman of 32 year with the International Longshoreman Association, Local 1303.
He loved spending time with family, his brother Paul and wife Dot, his favorite nephew Jimmy Bergeron and friends. He cherished also the wonderful years after retiring he shared with his grandson Adam and great grandson A. J. they were the joy and sunshine of his day. He also enjoyed attending the Long Beach Youth Baseball Games and camping trips.
Named Louis after the Bay of St Louis and Henderson after Henderson Point in Pass Christian he was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him as Lu Lu or Paw Paw Bergeron. The precious memories, his wonderful smile and humorous personality will never be forgotten. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
The family is deeply appreciative for the care he was given by the staff at Memorial Hospital, Specialty Select Hospital and Driftwood Nursing Home.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 - 9 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. The funeral service will be at 2 pm Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Evergreen Gardens Cemetery.
