Mrs. Louemma (Lou) Ladner passed from this life peacefully by her family's side on June 20, 2010.
She was born in Forrest County, MS, and was a resident of Gulfport for over 40 years. Mrs. Ladner worked at Gayfers in Edgewater Mall for nearly 30 years and after retirement was often remembered by her former customers as """"the pretty lady that worked at Gayfers."""" She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved animals, especially her cats, working in the yard, cooking, and reading. She will be remembered for her kindness and her optimistic outlook on life.
She loved the simple things in life including early morning sunshine and late afternoon showers. She loved the Christmas season, especially decorating her home with a collection of Santa Claus dolls and figures.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Laprella Johnson; two brothers, J.T. Johnson and L.C. Johnson; and her sister, Lucile Seal.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Everette E. Ladner, Jr.; three sons, John Corbett Ladner, Eric Ronald Ladner, and Everette E. Ladner, III (Patti); three grandchildren, Courtenay Marie Ladner, Everette E. Ladner IV (Rhett), and Hallie Ann Ladner. Mrs. Ladner is also survived by many siblings, A.C. Johnson, Lucy Johnson, Louise Scott, Luenette Adams, Luella Breland, and Lucresia (J.B.) Meadows; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport, where family and friends may visit from 2:00 PM until service time.
