Lottie Schafhirt

Lottie Mae Schafhirt, age 80 and a resident of Gulfport, died on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Schafhirt was a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast. She was a member of Pass Road Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery. Mrs. Schafhirt loved children and was well known as """"Miss Lottie, The Babysitter.""""
Mrs. Schafhirt is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard & Dossie Sosbee Slade; her husband, Charles Robert Schafhirt, Sr; her sister, Sylvia Lewis and her brother, Buddy Slade.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Schafhirt, William Schafhirt, Joe Schafhirt, and Richard Schafhirt all of Gulfport; her brother, Orthor Slade of Tucson, AZ; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Private services will be held at a later date. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, 4803 Harrison Circle, Gulfport, MS 39507-4402.
