Lorraine Garcia Powell, age 60, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 surrounded by loved ones in Gulfport.
She was a loving mother, devoted wife, faithful Christian, and friend to all cats. She had a big heart full of love and giving spirit that overflowed to everyone she met. Her smile was contagious and her laugh would always warm the soul. She had the kindest eyes and loved capturing memories and moments. She enjoyed feeding our spirits with God's word, and nurturing our bodies with amazing cooking. She will be loved, missed, and remembered always.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Wayne Powell of Long Beach; two daughters, Sarah Christine Lorlovick (Jerrad Lorlovick) of Amarillo, TX and Hanna Lorraine Marmalich (Dr. Dustin Marmalich) of Mobile, AL; three sisters, Yolanda Garcia, April Torres, and Sandra Becerra; brother, David Holquin; three grandsons, Isaac Jeansonne, Christopher Bond, and Dalton Marmalich; best friends of 37 years, Wayne and Lucy Atkins of San Diego, CA; many other friends and family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach. A visitation will begin at 10:00AM until service time at the funeral home. A burial will follow the service at Long Beach City Cemetery.
