Lorraine Ursula Marto was born in New Orleans, LA., on September 14, 1939, to the late Emile Paul
(Motto) Marto and Ursula Seebt. At the tender age of 14, Lorraine lost her father to a sudden early
death. Her mother never re-married and Lorraine devoted much of her time assisting her mother, with
the running of a single parent home. Lorraine attended Metairie Elementary school on Metairie Road
which is now known as Metairie Academy for Advanced Studies and continued on to graduate from East
Jefferson High School in the class of 1957. Lorraine later worked for L. Frank and Company of New
Orleans, LA, as a clerk, until becoming a full time home maker. Lorraine married the love of her life,
Raymond Joseph Graft on October 29, 1966. She moved into a new home built with her husband
Raymond, in 1979 located in Diamondhead MS. She lived in her Diamondhead home the bulk of her life.
Her eldest son Ralph resided with her, after the passing of her husband Raymond. In late October of 2020
Lorraine moved in with her younger son Emile and his wife Terri, for convenient access to medical care.
Lorraine lived with her son Emile and his wife Terri until her death. God blessed Lorraine, by allowing her
to pass peacefully, in her sleep.
Lorraine spent much of her leisure time vegetable gardening until it became too strenuous for her to
continue. She enjoyed making ceramic creations of various types. In the latter part of her life she enjoyed
graphic arts, on her home computer. She loved animals especially dogs. Lorraine rescued many neglected
dogs over the course of her years. She especially loved the small short haired Chihuahua breed.
Lorraine is preceded in death, by her father, Emile Paul (Motto) Marto; brother, Emile Linus Marto;
mother, Ursula Seebt Marto; and her husband Raymond Joseph Graft.
Lorraine is survived by her two sons, Ralph William Graft of Diamondhead, MS, Emile Paul Graft and wife
Terri Sue Jones Graft, of Slidell, LA.; four grand-children Joshua William Graft and wife Ashley Marie
Cosentino Graft, Brandon Emile Graft, Erica Sue Graft and Zachary Armas Graft. She also leaves behind
an abundance of beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
