Lorraine Goad

Lorraine Rita Lauland Goad, age 84 of Gulfport accepted her crown into Heaven on June 28, 2018.
She was born April 6, 1934 in Algiers, Louisiana and became a resident of Gulfport, MS in 1957.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Hadley and Rita Lauland; her brother, Thomas H. Lauland, Jr.; a great grandchild, Cailey M. Goad.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years,  Daniel G. Goad; children, Daniel G Jr.(Dottie), of Long Beach, MS, Lonnie G., of Gulfport,, Timothy H. (Terri), of Long Beach, MS, Michael R. (Miki), of Phoenix, AZ, Sharon M. Dilorenzo (Thomas), of Long Beach, MS, Ronald L., of Gulfport, MS, Alan R., Gulfport, MS; along with ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Lorraine was a wonderful wife, and excellent Mother and homemaker.
She worked as an office assistant for an insurance company in New Orleans prior to her marriage.  She assisted as needed at St. John Elementary School and was a representative and sales clerk for Christmas World from it's opening until it's closing.  Lorraine was also a clerk for a school uniform store.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to Memorial Hospital, Driftwood Nursing Center, St. Joseph Hospice, and to all others who were involved with her care over the  years with her Alzheimer's and other medical problems.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions be made to St. Vincent DePaul of St. John Catholic Church, 2414 17th St. Gulfport, MS 39501 ( www.stjohnwc.org ) and to St. Jude Research Hospital, Memphis, TN ( www.stjude.org ).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 5, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Gulfport, MS with a visitation for family and friends from 9:00 AM until the Mass.  Burial will be at Gulf Pines Cemetery.
