Lorraine Edith Bennett

Adored wife and beloved mother, Lorraine Edith Gustafson Bennett, 76, of Pass Christian, entered Heaven's gates on August 27, 2012. She was born in Norwood, Massachusetts on June 13, 1936, to the late Eleanor and Laurie Gustafson. Lorraine graduated from St. Joseph's in 1953. She married the love of her life, Britt I. Bennett, on September 12, 1952. She was a proud soldier's wife, a loving mother, and homemaker; family and friends were her passion and delight.
She is survived by her husband, Britt I. Bennett; her son, Dell Bennett of West End, NC; her daughter, Donna Bennett Churchill of El Paso, TX; her grandchildren, Derek Bennett, Dale Churchill III, Brittnea Stephens (husband, Dean Stephens), and Ashley Bennett; her great-grandchildren, Adison Churchill and Lucas Stephens; her brother-in-law, Louis Bennett; her sister-in-law, Ruby (Raymond) Bentz; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be from Noon until 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Delisle on Friday, August 31, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
Burial will follow at Alphonse Malley Cemetery.
