Lori Bates Cook, age 47, of Pass Christian, MS, passed quietly and victoriously into the loving arms of her heavenly Father with her family at her side on December 20, 2008 at her home.
Mrs. Cook lived most of her life on the Coast. She was a graduate of Pass Christian High School and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. For the past fourteen years, she was a dedicated employee at the Hollywood Casino where she worked in employee relations.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and attended Gulf Coast Worship Center. Lori loved life, had a wonderful sense of humor, and touched everyone that she encountered.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Ivy Bates, and Gale and Edna Johnson.
She is survived by her loving husband of eleven years, Paul Cook; her two children whom she adored, Sarah Jacobs (Joe) Cowart, of Gulfport, and James Jacobs, II, Biloxi. She lovingly cared for her two step-sons, Paul Cook, III, Biloxi and Joshua Cook, New Orleans; her parents, Charles and Monnie Bates of Pass Christian; her two sisters, Dana (Sam) Ford , of Gulfport, and Gale (Bruce) Devlin of Naples, FL; one expected granddaughter; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach where friends may visit from 12:00 PM until service time.
Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
