Loraine Smith Stewart, age 84 and a resident of Gulfport, died on Thursday, April 29, 2010, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Stewart was born in Barth, MS and grew up in the Steep Hollow Community. She was a loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family, and her family meant the world to her.
Mrs. Stewart is preceded in death by her husband, Homer B. """"Buddy"""" Stewart; her parents, Pete and Marilla Smith, and her sisters, Lillis James, Lulla Smith, Dena McQueen, Eva Ladner, and Viola Breland.
She is survived by her five daughters, Sheila (Glen) Cummings of Phoenix, AZ, Tonja (Bubba) Gill of McHenry, Charnyse (Kerry) Loper of Gulfport, Nyla (Steve) Enroth of Gulfport, and Renee (Kenneth) Dupont of Metairie, LA; her two sons, Kim (Janice) Stewart of Wiggins, and Rubert Stewart of McHenry; her 15 grandchildren, Stewart Cummings, Deston Cummings, Tahaira Anderson, Kyle Gill, Tash Cuellar, Steven Enroth, Jr., Derek Enroth, Joshua Enroth, Chanel Stewart-Mouring, Adrienne Patton, Amy Daughtery, Lance Stewart, Rubert Stewart, Jr., Malika Stewart, and Shallette Stewart, her 15 great grandchildren, and her numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 30, 2010, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 49 North in Gulfport. Burial was held at Steep Hollow Cemetery.
