Mrs. Lonnie Lou Shaw Rimanich, age 86, resident of Gulfport, went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, in Gulfport, after a long illness.
Mrs. Rimanich was a lifelong resident of the Coast, raised in Crane Creek, graduated from Sellers High School, and was a lifelong member of Crane Creek Baptist Church. She attended Bel Aire Baptist Church in Gulfport. She was a beloved wife and mother, and will be deeply missed by her family, of whom she dedicated her whole life. She enjoyed her time working in her yard, growing beautiful flowers and, she was an excellent cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Plummer and Eliza Shaw; siblings, Jack Shaw, Monroe Shaw, McCoy Shaw, Nita Shaw, Ethel Malley, and Leo Rogers.
She is survived by her husband of over 61 years, David Edward Rimanich, Sr. of Gulfport; children, David Edward Rimanich, Jr. of Gulfport, and Karen Rimanich of Gulfport; grandchildren, Hillary Rimanich, Daniel Dix, Stephen Dix, Katie Dix, and Jacob Dix, all of Gulfport; brother, Tommy Shaw of Perkinston; and sister, Bonnie Phelps of Hattiesburg.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, where friends may call from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2008, at Crane Creek Baptist Church, at 3:00 p.m., where friends may visit from 2-3 p.m.
Burial will follow at Steep Hollow Cemetery.
