Lonnie Joiner

Mr. Lonnie Edward Joiner, age 69, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2019.
He was the husband of Yong Ye Joiner.  They shared 37 years of marriage together.  He was born to the late Emmer Pearl Hawkins on August 9, 1950 in Lineville, AL.  He graduated from Clay County Training School in 1968.  He went on to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was a brave and loyal soldier.  He retired from Civil Service in 2003 and was a God fearing and strong man.  He dedicated the rest of his life being a wonderful, loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Lonnie lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, fishing, spending time with his family, and playing with his grandchildren that he loved dearly.  He will be forever missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
He is loved and survived by his wife, Yong Ye Joiner; his children, Nina Joiner and Kimberly Joiner (Owen Blakely III); his grandchildren, Kimora Joiner and Alonna Bradley; a sister, Diane Hayes; nephew, Roy Hayes; niece, Myra Hayes; loyal friend, Roy Welch; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be at 11 AM on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Ramsey Memorial United Methodist Church, 12472 Dedeaux Road, Gulfport.  Visitation will be from 10 - 11 AM in the church.  Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Ramsey Memorial United Methodist Church.
