Lloyd Bennett Moore, age 70, and a resident of Gulfport, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2009.
He served in the US Navy and was a member of the Nugent United Methodist church and the Corinth, MS Scottish Rite Bodies.
Mr. Moore was a dispatcher for Yellow Freight and then worked for Viking Freight until his retirement. After retiring, he went back to college and obtained his LPN degree. He worked at the Boyington Nursing Home until November of 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bessie Moore, and by his daughter, Julie Kay.
He is survived by his wife, Denise; his sister, Judy Parks; his son-in-law, David Kay; his grandchildren, Ashley Calfee, Todd (Cyndy) Calfee, and Caroline Kay; his great granddaughter, Emily Calfee; and his great grandson, Nicholes Calfee.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lydia Latour and her staff for their compassion and care as well as Rosetta and Natalie from Memorial Hospice.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Nugent United Methodist Church, Gulfport, where family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until service time.
Memorials may be made to Nugent United Methodist Church Food Pantry or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
