Lisa Rene Russ Ladner

Lisa Rene Ladner, age 58 of Long Beach, gained her angel wings on Sunday, June 11, 2023.

She was born on July 29, 1964. and has resided in Long Beach her entire life. Lisa graduated from Long Beach High School in 1982. After graduation, Lisa started her job at UPS where she was employed for 30+ years.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Gary Mander; her paternal grandparents, Ollie Russ (Charles Russ, Jr.); and her maternal grandparents, J.D. and Mae Scarborough.

Lisa is survived by her mother, Annette Mander of Long Beach, MS; her father, Jimmy Russ (Ann) of Wilsonville, AL; her daughter, Laurel Rene “Toot” Ladner of Long Beach, MS; her brother, David Russ (Penny) of Shelby, AL; her niece, Celena Russ and her nephew, Chadwyn Russ, both of Shelby, AL; and many aunts, uncles, cousin, other family, and friends.

Lisa was truly a warrior; to know her was to love her. She adored her horses from childhood into adulthood. Lisa was competitive in barrel racing where she held many championship titles, she won the AQHA World Barrel Racing Championship in 1993.

Lisa’s greatest passion was her love for her daughter Laurel Rene Ladner, which most of you know as “Toot”. Lisa enjoyed spending her time watching softball, basketball, and her favorite NFL football team. She spent most of her time with her friends and family who she loved dearly. Lisa was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, “cuz” and best friend.

She beat all odds set against her during her longtime battle with cancer. She had a motto from the beginning of her diagnosis: “I GOT THIS” and she did just that. Lisa touched numerous lives throughout her lifetime, her motto will live on forever. She will be missed by so many. This goodbye is not forever. This goodbye is not the end. This simply means we will miss you until we meet again

A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach.  The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, followed by interment at Courtenay Cemetery, Pass Christian, MS.
