Linda Tartavoulle Mauffray, affectionately known as Nana and Newt, of Fenton passed away Monday, June 26, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Pass Christian, MS on January 23, 1949 to Samuel and Alvertia Necaise Tartavoulle. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt she will be remembered for her helping spirit and giving heart, she always put others before herself. Many lives were touched by her kindness and concern for others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tonya Mauffray, two brothers, Terry Tartavoulle and Norman Tartavoulle, four sisters; Violet Schwall, Suggie Longworth, Inez Hurlburt, and Toby Mauffray.
She leaves to cherish many precious memories her husband, Woody Mauffray of Fenton; a son Timothy Mauffray and daughter-in-law, Jamie of Kiln; three daughters; Tammy Garber and son-in-law, Jeff of Waveland, Kimberly Mauffray of Fenton, and Elizabeth Mauffray and son-in-law, Jason Trout of Fenton; four grandchildren; Bryce Garber, Nicole Garber, Dylan Mauffray, and Logan Mauffray; a sister, Shelia Griebel of Gulfport; a brother, Robert """"Poochie"""" Tartavoulle of Waveland; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation, Wednesday, June 28, 2006 from 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. at Gulf Coast Funeral Homes, Kiln DeLisle Road Chapel, with rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2006 at Annunciation Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
