Linda Cruthirds

March 1, 1946 — October 29, 2019

Linda Mae Cruthirds, age 73, of Gulfport, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at her son's home in Saucier, surrounded by her loving family, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Linda was born on March 1, 1946, in Roosevelt, Oklahoma to parents, Isaac Levi and Alta Mae Wheeler. She was raised in Hobart, Oklahoma, where she made lifelong friendships with "her girls", Linda Kay, Shirley, Cheryl, and Marilyn. After graduating from Hobart High School, she moved to Kansas, where she met, fell in love with, and married Richard Cruthirds, an E-4 in the U.S. Air Force. They raised 3 children together while traveling during his military career. She made homes for her family in exotic places such as Turkey and Greece, as well as stateside in Kansas, Texas and Mississippi, where they made their final home after he retired.
When her children were older, she worked at the Harrison County Humane Society of South Mississippi and then worked and retired from Walmart. Before Alzheimer's consumed her mind, she loved to read, go to the movies, play penny slots, spend time with her family, and go out to eat; especially Chinese food. She fought a long hard battle against this horrible disease, but in the end, Alzheimer's prevailed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Levi and Alta Mae (Smith) Wheeler; her brother, Alvin Eugene Lile; and her mother-in-law, Mildred Cruthirds.
She is survived by her 3 loving children, Joe (Dorothy) Cruthirds of Saucier, Cheryl (Rob) Cruthirds of Gautier; and Troy Cruthirds of Woolmarket; her granddaughters, Lauren Cruthirds, Bethany Cruthirds, Brandilyn (Jamie) Lizana, and Brianna Cruthirds; and 5 great grandchildren, Joseph, Annabelle, Adeline, Joshua, and Owen; four siblings, Deloris Ashley Judkins, Betty (Carl) Harris, Barbara (Mike) O'Neal, and Billy (Nelda) Lile; her former husband, Richard Cruthirds; and father-in-law, Stanley Cruthirds.
Linda made her final arrangements known to her family. She requested no visitation or funeral services, but instead, requested a celebration of her life to be held at her favorite place, "The Camp". She wanted family and friends to gather and remember her with laughter, not tears. The celebration will be held at the "The Camp" on November 9th from 1:00 - 4:00pm. The camp is located at:  11076 Woolmarket Lake Road, Biloxi, MS 39532.
RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Gulfport is serving the family.
