Linda Bailey

Linda Christine Roberts Bailey of Ocean Springs, passed away on September 8, 2023, at the age of 74 in her home with her loving husband by her side.  She was born on November 21, 1948 in Kingstree, South Carolina.

Linda is preceded in death by her father, John Garland Roberts, Sr and mother, Christine Lemons Roberts. She was of the Baptist faith.  Linda moved to Moss Point when she was a teen and graduated from Moss Point High School.

Linda attended Perkinston Jr. College and graduated from the Mississippi University for Women.

She obtained a Bachelor degrees in Art and Elementary Education. Linda loved working with children and they loved her. She taught for many years, most recently as a First-Grade teacher at St Martin North Elementary where she was named teacher of the year.

Linda was a homemaker, artist and enjoyed traveling. She was an active, adventurous woman whose hobbies included fishing, sailing, kayaking, and walking. Linda was also a homemaker and she enjoyed cooking for others, gardening and interior design.

Her heart overflowed with love for her beloved son, her entire family and her dogs.

She was a loyal friend and had many friends who loved her dearly. In her final days she was visited and comforted by Ana Luther, Vicki Kornfuhrer, and her dearest friend Diane Ross.

Let us remember the wonderful moments we shared with her and honor her legacy by embracing the love she shared with us.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 20 years, Jonathan Bailey, one son Desmond (Becky) May; brother, Johnny Roberts  (Rhea); nieces and nephews ; Marlon  Roberts (his wife is Becky); Rheanna (her husband is Jeremy), and Brock

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at her home on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 11:00 am until 3:00pm (10010 Sanctuary Dr., Ocean Springs, MS).  Please come Celebrate with the family the life and legacy of Linda.
