Lillian Doshier, a very young 92 years old, went home to be with the Lord and her loved ones, February 3, 2010 in Zephyrhills, FL where she had resided with her grandson and his wife the last year of her life. She was surrounded by her family as she gently met her Savior.
She was born July 6, 1917 in Cameron, TX. Lillian insisted on being known only as Meemaw, Meems or Mama. Those who knew her always said, """"She loved life, never complained unless you were attempting to eat her Milky Ways and she always made you laugh."""" She was indeed a """"piece of work,"""" God's gift to her children, grandchildren great-grandchildren, and friends.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, King Doshier, Jr, her parents, Franciska and Jon Kachtik, her sister Louise Holland, brothers, Emil, Edward, Robert, William, John, and Walter Kachtik, her son-in-law Lowry Anderson and her great-grandson Cooper Jasper.
She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Raises and her husband Frank of Biloxi, MS and Kandi Farris and her husband Cooper of Gulfport; five grandchildren, Dennis Davis and his wife Kathy, Tamara Chapman and her husband Todd, Melanie Jasper and her husband JJ, Zachary Anderson and his wife Tiffany, and Kasie Ulmer and her husband Jeremy; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Lillian spent many years in the Rio Grande Valley, Tx working in the Harlingen School systems and for Harlingen National Bank. She and her husband retired in South Mississippi where she made a multitude of friends and worked as the """"bag lady"""" for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Golf Association. Her ninetieth birthday year found her and two other ninety-year old running buddies riding in a limo, hitting pinatas and entertaining anyone who would listen with stories and song. She fully lived her years on earth. She wasn't worried about time. Her clock told it all...the numbers were all on the bottom with the words """"Who Cares"""" written across the face. People and God's handiwork were more important to Meemaw than time, money and stuff.
She had many memories of wonderful church families at Ramsay Methodist, Michael Memorial Baptist, Bel-Aire Baptist, Big Ridge Baptist and First Baptist Biloxi.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport where family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will be on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
