Mr. Levander E. Cuevas, Jr., age 78, lifelong resident of Pass Christian, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2009.
Mr. Cuevas was born on January 23, 1931 to the late Levander, Sr. and Elizabeth Sims Cuevas. He retired from the Pass Christian School System after 23 years. He had a great love for his family, his home, and the animals that he raised. He enjoyed music and had quite an extensive library. He was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Cuevas; niece, Dawn E. Brogdon; brother-in-law, Virgil J. Cuevas.
He is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Annie Mae Cuevas of Pass Christian; son, Karl E. Cuevas of Pass Christian; siblings, Lydia J. Cuevas of Gulfport, Mary Beth Brogdon and her husband Otis """"Bud"""" of Pass Christian, Delores A. Mason of Phoenix, AZ, and Pauline T. Cuevas of Memphis, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2009, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, where friends may visit from 9-11:30 a.m. A procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 for Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen's Catholic Church at Noon. Burial will follow at Rotten Bayou Cemetery.
