Lessie Daniel, 59 of Gulfport (previously Hattiesburg), passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. She left behind her devoted and loving husband, Paul Andrew ""Andy"" Daniel, Jr. She was preceded in death by her father Dick L.V. Clark and mother Dora Jacqulyn Bennett Clark.
She is survived by her husband Andy; her brother Dick L.V. Clark III of Hattiesburg, MS; and her three step-children Gwendolyn Sedlak (Rob)of Wayne, PA, Tamara P. Daniel and Paul Andrew Daniel III both of Charleston, SC; step-grandchildren, Robbie, Katie, and Jimmie Sedlak
Lessie visited the Mississippi Gulf Coast many times as a little girl. When she was offered the opportunity to move here for work, she packed up and moved from the only home she knew.
Lessie retired August 2012, from a 35 year career as a civilian with the United States Air Force at Keesler Air Force Base as an instructor, instructor supervisor, training specialist, training manager and flight chief. Most of those years, Lessie's career focus was in the field of Command and Control and Electronics Principles. She ended her career as Chief of Faculty Development, responsible for the training of current and future trainers of our joint forces, allied personnel and civilian agency personnel assigned to various worldwide bases and agencies. Her exceptional performance gleaned a multitude of awards and recognition at all levels with highest from Headquarters, Air Education and Training Command.
A celebration of Lessie's life will take place at First Baptist Church of Gulfport, 12190 Highway 605, Gulfport, MS. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 1:00 PM with the service taking place at 2:00 PM. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, MS is serving the family.
