Leslie Levens

Leslie R. """"Buddy"""" Levens, age 73 and a resident of Gulfport, was born on February 6, 1935 and entered Heaven's Gates on February 6, 2008.
Mr. Levens served in the US Marines from 1953-1956 and served in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Local Union 903 IBEW and was a member of Michael Memorial Baptist Church. His hobbies were fishing, gardening, and wood working. He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.B. Levens, Sr., and Blanche Woodcock Levens; his brothers, George Purchner, Charles Purchner, and Dr. John B. Levens, Jr.,
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon Levens, his children, Leslie R. (Mitzi) Levens, Jr., Sherrie (Kevin) Byrd, Timothy Levens, and Cary Levens; grandchildren, Kevin, Tracee, Ashton, Kyle, Kinsey, Elise, Tyler, Dillon, and Savannah; his sisters, Myrtle Buck, Peggy Pritchard, Ada McAdoo; his brother-in-law, L.J. Pritchard; 12 nephews and 14 nieces.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 8, 2008 from 6-8pm at THE RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 3:00pm at Michael Memorial Baptist Church, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Finley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Michael Memorial Baptist Church, Missions Fund or Linc-Up Missions Fund, 15053 John Clark Road, Gulfport, MS 39503.
