Leroy "Roy" Valenti

Leroy Charles “Roy” Valenti, age 85, and resident of Biloxi, MS., passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022 in Ocean Springs, MS.

Roy was born in New Orleans, LA in December of 1936.  He joined the United States Air Force in 1954, and retired after 20 years of service to his country.  He then earned an Associates Degree in Business.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus member.  He enjoyed going to the casinos, playing backgammon and hunting, but most of all, he enjoyed being with his family.

Roy is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 62 years, Mertice Valenti; his children, David Valenti (Susan), Angie Messer (Mike), Joan Parker, and Terry Valenti (Angela); his only sibling, Anthony Valenti; his grandchildren, Danielle Barber, Valerie Hale (Charlie), Stephanie Hill (Jesse), Stephen Messer (Stephanie), Drew Parker, Chelsey Parker, Aaron Valenti, and Brandon Messer; and his eight great-grandchildren, Elisabeth Hale, Haley Hale, Mason Hale, Amelia Hill, Danny Hill, Aubri Messer, Jazzy Messer, Saylor Messer; and numerous friends.

The family would like to thank the Deaconess Home Care company, especially Kitty Swetman and Ms Patty for their special care and tenderness given to Roy.

Visitation is being held on Friday, April 22, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., then followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville with Father Dominic Pham as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in D’Iberville Memorial Park Cemetery.
