Msgt. Leroy Talton Jr., age 72, a native of Goldsboro, NC and longtime resident of Biloxi, MS, passed away on July 3, 2021 in Biloxi.
He was born to Edward Leroy Talton and Emma Mozingo Talton, who preceded him in death along with his wife, Willa Redmon Talton.
Leroy is survived by his children, Russell Talton (Julie), Renate Woodward (Willard), and Jeremiah Talton (Tiffany); his siblings, Bobby Talton (Elizabeth), Peggy Britt (Bruton), and Robin Lancaster (Steve); and his grandchildren, Troy K. Wells, II., Lauren Hathorn, Alex Talton, Aaron Talton, Savannah Talton, Zachariah Talton; and one great grandchild, Evelyn Byrd; numerous relatives, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Leroy graduated from Southern Wayne High School, in Goldsboro, NC., then joined and spent 24 years in the United States Military, and retired with an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force.
He loved fishing and classic cars, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Republican National Committee and was so proud to be.
Our family would like to thank all of the people who stopped in to visit him over the years, especially after Mom's death.
A visitation will take place on Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. funeral service at The Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., Biloxi, MS 39532 in West Jackson County. He will be laid to rest in Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors in a private interment.
