Evangelist Leota Mae Burch, age 81, resident of Gulfport, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 24, 2010.
Mrs. Burch was born in Kennett, MO to James Wesley Norman and Beulah Mae Cunningham Norman. She made numerous trips to Mexico serving in the mission field. She and her late, beloved husband, Rev. Sidney L. Burch, traveled the country preaching revivals and serving the Lord. She enjoyed gospel music and nature's beauty. She was a loving wife, supportive mother, cherished grandmother, and friend to all.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, sons, Sidney W., Donald L., and James P. Burch; siblings, Pete and Paul Norman, Catherine Burroughs, and Margie Moore; grandchildren, Penny M. and Tony N. Burch.
She is survived by her sons, Ricky A. Burch of Jonesboro, AR, Christopher L. Burch (Isabella) of Gulfport, Rebecca L. Jackson (Kenneth) of Bowman, SC; 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010, at Extended Hands Assembly of God, Shaw Road, Gulfport, from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow visitation at 3:30 p.m.
Burial will follow at Finley Cemetery.
