Leonard 'Wayne' Reid, Jr. was an avid hunter and fisherman, and said hunting was just as important as breathing. He has had some limitations since his illness. Wayne was a very compassionate and good hearted man. He truly loved his family. He was a beloved son, grandson, and brother. Wayne was truly a big brother to many.
Wayne passed away early Monday morning, November 5, 2007, at his home in Long Beach, after a long illness. He was single and has no children of his own. He took care of his nieces and nephews like they were his own.
Wayne was born on February 16, 1964 in Biloxi to Leonard Wayne (Buddy) Reid, Sr. of Hattiesburg and Margie McNair and her husband, Randy, of Biloxi. His paternal grandparents are Ernest (Bud) and Eurselene (Peaches) Reid of Long Beach; his maternal grandparents are Henry and Jamesina Drieling of Biloxi.
Wayne is the oldest of five children. He is survived by both of his parents; paternal grandmother; two sisters, Jackie Soden and her husband, Clay, of Pontotoc, MS and Robyn Ghiloni and her husband, John, of Gulfport, MS; and two brothers, Randy Reid and his wife, Marie, and D. J. McNair, both of Biloxi. He has many aunts and uncles but two aunts were like sisters, Linda Bailey and her husband, Richard, of Diamondhead and Norma Moran and her husband, Carl of Long Beach. He has six nieces, Brandi, Danielle, Bethany, Ashley, Cynthia and Brittany; four nephews, Brandon, Scottie, Cody and Jonathan; six great-nephews, Zachary, Hunter, Taylor, Tyler, Austin and Blayden; and some very special cousins, Kevin and Eric Moran of Long Beach, Brian Bailey of Hattiesburg and Richelle Bailey of Diamondhead. Special and dear to his heart are Olivia, Analeigh, Ella, Zachary and Haley.
Wayne was preceded in death by Ernest (Bud) Reid, Susan Reid, Henry and Jamesina Drieling.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19128 Commission Road, Long Beach. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Gulf Pines Cemetery.
