Leona J. Mashburn, age 94, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014 in Biloxi. Leona was a native of Belvue, Kansas and a resident of Biloxi for 47 years.
She retired from Keesler AFB library and was an RSVP volunteer at Gulf Coast Medical Center & other locations for 16 years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima where she served as an extraordinary minister, was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society, the Steel Magnolias; and was a past Prefect of the Immaculate Conception Sodality - Keesler chapter.
Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond ""Bob"" Mashburn, her parents Rosa and Frank Weeks, and her four siblings. She is survived by her son, Mike Mashburn of Biloxi, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Friday, May 9 at 11:00AM, where friends may visit an hour prior. Burial will follow immediately at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers contributions to Biloxi St. Vincent de Paul or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
