Leona Louise Cuevas, 62, of Rocky Hill passed away October 25, 2006 in Gulfport. She was born September 15, 1944 in Pass Christian.
Mrs. Cuevas was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in the White Cypress Community. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora, Sr. and Lena Ladner, and an infant brother, Wendolyn Ladner.
Survivors include her loving husband of 37 years, Charles Cuevas; one son, Ritchie Cuevas and wife Melinda, Dedeaux Community; three daughters, Lana Cuevas, Rocky Hill, Shelly Lee and husband Leroy, Kiln, and Stacey Szepek, Rocky Hill; 7 brothers, Lavert Ladner and wife Elaine, Pass Christian, Vernon Ladner and wife Mary L., Pass Christian, Ora Ladner, Jr. and wife Genny, Saucier, Ronnie Ladner and wife Sandy, Gulfport, Eddie Ladner and wife Barbara, Poplarville, Duwayne Ladner and wife Diane, Woolmarket, and Bruce Ladner and wife Marie, Latimer; 2 sisters, Geraldine Smith and husband Wendell, Picayune, and Shelia Cuevas and husband Huey, Jr., Pass Christian; 3 grandchildren, Damien and Shantell Cuevas and Timothy Szepek; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, October 27, 2006 from 6-9 p.m. at Gulf Coast Funeral Home, Kiln DeLisle Road Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, White Cypress community.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
