Lena May Tully Macillus, a longtime resident of Pearlington, MS, died May 12, 2011, at the age of 73. In her youth, she served in the Army with pride for her country. She loved Pearlington and would never leave. She loved to sit on the porch of her house and look at the pond she built and watching her animals. She said that was the best and most peaceful time of her life. It was her place of peace and serenity.
She was loved by everyone she met and would always tell you exactly what she was thinking, whether you wanted to hear it or not. She had a love for life and had no regrets and kept a positive attitude even during these last 18 months fighting cancer. She had two great friends that took care of her, Tommy Calderaro and Theo Greenup. Their love, understanding, and help got her through these hard times.
She is survived by her brother John Tully, his wife Angela, their son John Tully III, his wife Jennifer, son Zander and daughter Gabriella, and their son Carl Tully and his daughters Kaitlyn and Alexa. She is also survived by her sister Sandra James, her daughter Amber Lindsey, and her daughter Ayva and Sandy's son Justin James.
She is now free of pain and suffering. She fought courageously but the cancer ultimately won. The love and care she showed to everyone is now being repaid in heaven. Her animals, family and friends are with her now in heaven. Lena May will always be in our thoughts and our hearts.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
