Lawson Ray Weaver, a beloved member of the Gulfport community, passed away on February 25, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on September 1, 1950, in Olla, LA., Lawson dedicated his life to both his family and his career in the purchasing department at Hancock Bank, where he became a cherished and friend to many.
A proud alumnus of Pearl River Community College, Lawson earned his Associate Degree, setting the foundation for a life filled with hard work and dedication. He was known not only for his professional accomplishments but also for being, as his daughter often said, the “world's best dad.
Lawson was a devoted member of Bel-Aire Baptist Church, where he found community and companionship. His faith played a significant role in his everyday life and influenced many of those around him. He was a man who cared deeply for others and sought to make a positive impact on the lives of those he encountered.
In his leisure, Lawson found joy in fishing, often enjoying peaceful days by the water, reflecting on life and sharing stories with loved ones. His passion for nature and the serenity it provided was a testament to his character—one that appreciated the simple pleasures life has to offer.
Lawson is survived by his loving wife, Patty Weaver, with whom he shared 26 wonderful years of marriage. He was a loving father to his daughter Hali (Kenny) Weaver, and a proud bonus dad to Rick (Tanya) Duncan. Lawson was also a doting grandfather to Violet "Kaz" Duncan, who brought immense joy to his life. Additionally, he is mourned by his brother Lloyd Weaver, as well as several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss his warmth and guidance.
Lawson is preceded in death by his father, Bernis Weaver; mother, Ethel Weaver; previous wife, Dixie Weaver; son, Lantz Weaver; brother, Clayton Weaver; and sister, Robbie Doughty. They will forever hold a special place in his memory.
