Lawrence J. McMullen

Lawrence J. McMullen, age 77, resident of Saucier passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011 in Gulfport.
Mr. McMullen served his country with 46 years of Government Service. He retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service. Mr. McMullen served his country during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He also retired from Civil Service after 25 years of service working in Dietitic Services at the VA Hospital in Biloxi.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morrell and Mary Ann McMullen; daughter, Pamela Rhea; two sisters, Marian Scott and Barbara Paul; and brother Wayne McMullen; and grandson, Alan Wayne McMullen, II.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Bessie Hammons McMullen; children, Joey McMullen, Alan (Georgia), Pamela McMullen, Roben (Jenny) McMullen, and Teri McMullen; sister, Annabelle (Joe) Murphy; grandchildren, Kasey, Joey, Jr., Chad, Casey S., Ashley, Austyn, Luv, Darcy, Patricia, Kristin, Alan, III, Trevor, Mariah, John, Chelsey, Regann, Mary, Spenser, Ashlyne, and Lauren; and 14 great grandchildren.
The Visitation will be held Monday, August 8, 2011 from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road., Gulfport.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 10:00 am, with visitation 30 minutes prior, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 23146 Highway 49, Saucier, MS.
Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
