Lawrence Edwin Carver, Jr.

Lawrence Edwin Carver Jr., age 87 of Bay St. Louis, MS passed away on Wednesday January 22, 2025, in Diamondhead, MS. He was a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Lawrence was preceded in death by brothers Donald J. Carver, Sr. and Kenneth Ray Carver; sister Bonnie M. Evans; nephews David W. Carver, Charles Cook Jr., and Derek W. Evans; parents, Edwin and Carrie Favre Carver and beloved Godmother Katie Favre.

Lawrence leaves behind brothers Howard J. Amann of Picayune, MS and Ronald G. Carver of Cocoa, FL as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lawrence was known as Scooter to friends and family. He was a natural born artist and loved working with his hands. He enjoyed spending time with family, gardening and cooking. Nieces and nephews recount many hours enjoying the stories he told of his travels and his artistic creativity. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country from 1960 to 1963. 

A graveside service to celebrate Lawrence's life will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Gulf Coast Memorial Cemetery & Mausoleum, located at 2177 Longfellow Road, Bay St. Louis, MS 39520. Friends are invited to join the family for a brief gathering at 1:45 PM.   The service will commence promptly at 2:00 PM with honors rendered by the U.S. Army and a committal service presided by Deacon Michael Saxer.  

Lawrence Edwin Carver, Jr. will be remembered not only for his service and commitment but also for the warmth, kindness, and joy he brought into the lives of those he loved. His legacy will live on in the hearts of many.
