Laveta A. Bland, 85, of Biloxi went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 28, 2011 in D'Iberville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon H. Bland; sisters, Aloha Copeland and Virginia Smallwood; and brothers, Ovid Wilkerson and W.F. Wilkerson, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Loraine Foretich of Gulfport, Lowell Bland of Flowood, MS, and Larry Bland of Long Beach; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and nephew, Evan Ellis of Gulfport.
Laveta worked in the hotel industry for most of her life. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, reading, and spending time with her family.
A private service will be held at a later date.
