Lavada Holloway a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, loving great-grandmother and, a beloved seamstress, passed away peacefully, December 8, 2024, in Gautier, Mississippi. Born on December 11, 1934, in Dunklin, Missouri, Lavada lived a life full of warmth, love, and creativity. She proudly earned her GED in 1990, demonstrating her belief in lifelong learning and personal growth.
In her professional life, Lavada brought joy to many as a seamstress at ER Moore in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Her craftsmanship was admired not only for its quality but also for the love and care she infused into every piece she created. Sewing and cooking were her passions, and she often shared the fruits of her labor with family and friends, ensuring that everyone felt a little warmer through her delicious meals and handmade garments.
Lavada was a proud member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ocean Springs, where she found a strong sense of community and fellowship. Her faith was a guiding light, allowing her to radiate kindness and compassion, and establishing connections that lasted throughout her life.
She leaves behind her devoted sons Dwight Holloway, Ron and Laura (nee Lawler) Holloway, Darrel and Cindee (nee Young) Holloway, Scott and Penny (nee Moss) Holloway, who will forever remember her nurturing spirit and her unwavering support. As a grandmother, Lavada’s love expanded endlessly, encompassing her grandchildren: Heather (Chris) Bartlett, Brandon (Sabrina) Holloway, Jamie Ainsworth, Johnny (Robin) Holloway, Erin (Danny) DuPree, Veronica (Josh) Bell, Ashley (Chris) Connolly, Christy Martin, and Emily Holloway. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she took pride in witnessing their growth and achievements.
Lavada was not just a grandmother; she blossomed into a great-grandmother, sharing her joy with Aleah (Logan) Discavage, Lainey Bartlett, Karlee Holloway, Christian Barnes, Kaden Barnes, Jillian Holloway, Karson Holloway, Gabe DuPree, Charlotte DuPree, Hayden Ainsworth, Sophia Ainsworth, Gatlin Bell, Riley Bell, Aubrey Bell, Lilly Martin, Brantley Martin and Levi Holloway. She infused their lives with laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love, creating precious memories that they will cherish forever.
Lavada has joined her beloved husband, Harvey L. Holloway; her parents, Estle and Zettie Smith; and her siblings, Earla Poe, Wilford Smith, Reva Duffel, Leonard Smith, Imogen Hyde, Velma Roland, Bonnie Sue Lawless, and Rollie Smith, in eternal rest.
Visitation will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd, West Jackson County, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 12:00/Noon until the time of services at1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow on December 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Biloxi National Cemetery.

Lavada Holloway’s legacy of love, creativity, and family will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. She will be missed dearly but remembered with deep affection.
