Lautain M. Scruggs was born in Wardell, MO, but was a resident of Long Beach since 1959. She worked in various medical offices in Long Beach & Gulfport for 40 years. She exemplified love for her Heavenly Father as a faithful and active member of her beloved Long Beach First Baptist Church since 1959. She served her community as a regular volunteer at the Food Pantry, as a member of National Exchange Club, and in so many other ways as a loyal and patriotic citizen. She made her mark by sharing her faith in God and opening her home and heart to people from all walks who needed her guidance, love and wisdom.
She is survived by daughters Jannette S. McDonald, of Atlanta & Julia S. Cavalier (Wendell), of Pensacola; sister, Jannette Kornman of New Orleans; six grandchildren, Mandeline Kurz (Scott) of Villa Rica, GA, Wendell Cavalier Jr. (Roxanne) of Gulfport, Karyn Dew (Kevin) of Hattiesburg, Drew Cavalier of Huntsville, AL, Paige and Brandon Cavalier of Pensacola and four great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Kyle Cavalier of Gulfport and Makayla and Madison Kurz of Villa Rica.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, with a visitation an hour prior to the service at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach. Interment will be at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers her family asks that donations be given to His Church Rising, Long Beach First Baptist Church, 300 N Cleveland Ave, LB, or Long Beach Community Food Pantry, 21081 Johnson Rd LB 39560.
