Larry Stewart, age 75, passed away on September 5, 2020 in Gulfport.

He was a lifelong resident of Gulfport. He attended Handsboro School and graduated from Gulfport High class of 1962, where he was active in the band and served as Drum Major. Larry was a hairdresser in many popular salons along the MS Gulf Coast for 47 years. Larry owned a salon with his mother Berlyne for a number of years. He was very instrumental in planning yearly class reunions for the class of ‘62 and enjoyed keeping in touch with his classmates.

Larry loved Mardi Gras. He was King of the Krewe of Harlequins and was member of several Mardi Gras krewes along the coast. He also enjoyed his time with the ROMEOs (RetiredOlderMenEatingOut) attending their weekly Sunday champagne brunches.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor John Stewart and Berlyne Blackwell Stewart; brother, Greg Stewart.

He is survived by his sister, Ilyne Denmark (Donny) of Phoenix, AZ; niece, Danielle Denmark of Phoenix; nephew, Donny Denmark, II (Erin) of Phoenix, AZ; great-niece, Briella Demark; great nephews, Seth Demark and Brody Denmark; several Stewart and Blackwell cousins.

A private graveside service will be held at Evergreen Gardens Cemetery in Gulfport.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations in Larry’s name be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692, www.heart.org.
