Larry Clarence Cooley of Mesquite, Texas, was born to the late Wilburn and Reba Cooley on December 11, 1943 in Jackson, Mississippi. He lived in Gulfport, MS, for most of his early years. He was married to Carol Ann Coleman in 1962 in Hattiesburg, MS. He moved his young family to Texas in 1968. He passed away at the age of 78 on December 14, 2021.

Larry became a Christian as a young teenager and joined First Baptist Church of Gulfport, MS. He was a member of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church, Dallas since 1984. He worked in the accounting department at Dallas Power & Light (now Oncor) in various positions, including supervisor, and he retired at the age of 49! He liked to travel and even visited all 50 states. He made many friends through metal detecting and geocaching. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing bridge and many other games. He was often called upon for his computer skills. He loved being with family and friends.

He is survived by Carol Ann Cooley, his wife of 59 years; son Duwayne Cooley and wife Kim of Granbury, TX; son James Cooley of Mesquite, TX; son Chris Cooley and wife Becky of Henderson, TX; grandson Mason Cooley, wife Alyssa, and their daughter Emalee (only great-grandchild of Larry) of Decatur, TX; grandson Taylor Cooley of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Madison, Timothy, and Melinda Cooley of Henderson, TX; brother Ken Cooley and wife Eleana of Belton, TX; niece Becky Cole and family of Morgan’s Point, TX; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens, Long Beach.
